ABOUT — OBSOLETE MACHINE (SINGLE)

Released April 18, 2026
3 Tracks — 10 Minutes
Released via Interscope Records / Nothing Records

Obsolete Machine serves as a focused release built around a single central idea, presented through multiple variations.

Rather than expanding outward, the project narrows in—taking one track and exploring how it can be altered, reduced, and restructured while still maintaining its core identity. Each version shifts the emphasis, revealing different elements depending on what is removed or repeated.

The result is a release that is intentionally minimal in scope, but precise in execution.

TRACK BREAKDOWN

1. Obsolete Machine — 3:10
The original version acts as the foundation for the entire release.

Its full structure, instrumentation, and arrangement define the core identity of the track. All subsequent versions are built directly from this composition, using it as the reference point for variation.

2. Obsolete Machine (Strip) — 3:23
This version removes a significant portion of the original layering, reducing the track to a more exposed and minimal form.

By stripping away elements, the focus shifts toward the underlying structure and tone. The result is not simply a quieter version, but a reinterpretation that alters the way the track is experienced.

3. Obsolete Machine (Guitar Loop) — 3:27
The guitar loop version isolates one of the defining elements of the original track and extends it across the full runtime.

The central guitar riff is looped continuously, forming the backbone of the track, while additional elements are adjusted to fit this structure. A synthesizer replaces the original chorus dynamics, creating a more repetitive and mechanical progression.

This version emphasizes repetition and texture over progression, reshaping the track into something more cyclical and focused.

THE RELEASE AS A WHOLE

Obsolete Machine is built on variation rather than expansion.

Each track is directly connected, offering a different perspective on the same material without revealing its full context. The release avoids explanation, instead presenting fragments that stand on their own while hinting at something larger beyond them.
