Frequently Asked Questions
What is Disabled Parker?
Disabled Parker is an independent alternative/grunge project created by Alex Hunter and Owen McGarry. The band focuses on emotional, story-driven albums with heavy themes, immersive atmospheres, and unique artwork. Every release has its own tone and visual identity, and we put a huge amount of effort into making each one feel like a complete experience.
How many albums do you have?
Disabled Parker currently has several albums released, with more in development. Major titles include Cherry Machine, Injection, and the upcoming double album Obscura, releasing March 5, 2026. The band started with a large backlog of finished songs, allowing for rapid early releases; now, each album is created more slowly and intentionally.
Why do you release music so quickly?
Before the band officially launched, we already had a huge archive of songs ready to go. That’s why earlier albums came out fast. Now that we’re caught up, each album is built from the ground up — with new writing, new production, new artwork, and new concepts — so the pace is more focused on quality and storytelling.
Is Disabled Parker a real band or a studio project?
A bit of both. We are a creative studio project with full control over our sound and artwork, but we also perform live when the timing makes sense. We’ve played at large venues, including Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, and we continue to do special shows when opportunities arise.
Where can I listen to your music?
You can stream every Disabled Parker album on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and all major platforms.
Are physical CDs available?
Yes. We hand-make physical CDs with custom artwork, lyric booklets, picture booklets, and unique packaging. Albums like Obscura come in chubby double-CD cases with detailed, fully designed inserts. Every copy is assembled by hand for quality and authenticity.
Why do the CDs sometimes take a while to ship?
Because each one is literally built by hand. Printing the artwork, cutting the inserts, assembling the cases, labeling discs, shrink-wrapping — it’s all done manually. Stock is limited, and restocks take time, but each copy is crafted with care.
Are the live albums real recordings?
Yes. All live albums come from real shows. If a platform ever flags a track by mistake (usually because of crowd noise detection), we file an appeal. We never use fake live effects — what you hear is exactly what happened at the performance.
Will Disabled Parker ever release vinyl?
It’s something we absolutely want to do in the future. Vinyl is expensive and requires large minimum orders, but as interest grows, we plan to explore vinyl editions for major albums like Obscura or Cherry Machine Deluxe.
Is Disabled Parker ever going on a full tour?
Possibly. We prefer doing selective shows instead of rushing into a full tour. As the audience grows and demand increases, a tour becomes more realistic. Quality comes first.
Who creates the band’s artwork?
Most Disabled Parker artwork is created by Alex, using photography, original design work, collage-style imagery, experimental visuals. Physical releases often include exclusive artwork not seen online.
What is DP Records?
DP Records is the official label imprint for all Disabled Parker releases. It appears on CD packaging, booklets, websites, and future merchandise. It represents our homemade, handcrafted approach to physical media.
Is Disabled Parker a person?
For the love of all things… no.
Disabled Parker is not a person. There is no one named Parker. No one in the band is named Parker. Parker does not exist.
We get this question constantly, so here is the official statement:
It is just the band name. That’s it. There is no mysterious guy named Parker sitting in a chair somewhere. There is no secret third member. There is no person behind the name.
It is simply the band name, and we promise the story is not deeper than that.
